We trade NQ futures live. We run our own quant research. And we publish our real journals, losses included, because that's the only kind of education we'd trust ourselves.
They fail because they have no system. No written rules for what they trade, when they trade it, and how much they risk.
We started Hawai'i Trading Academy because the trading education we saw online was built backwards. It sold dreams, screenshots, and vague promises, but almost none of it taught the boring part that actually matters: a repeatable process you follow before, during, and after every trade.
So we built the thing we wished existed. We test our own strategies before we ever teach them. We size our risk with the same framework we hand students. And when a trade goes against our own rules, we post it. That's the standard. If we wouldn't trade it ourselves, we don't put it in front of you.
Every strategy HTA teaches goes through a research and validation process before it reaches a student. We backtest it, stress-test it, and only keep what survives. Most of our own ideas don't make the cut, and that's the point. The bar isn't "does it sound good." The bar is "does the data hold up."
Glenn runs HTA's quantitative research: the backtesting, validation, and strategy work that decides what makes it into the curriculum and what gets killed. He trades NQ/MNQ futures live and believes edge has to be proven on data before it's worth a student's time or capital.
Reid is up before the NY open at 3:30 AM HST, trading the same setups HTA teaches. He leads the coaching side, reviewing member trades, calling out the mistakes traders can't see in themselves, and keeping the community focused on process over P&L screenshots.
We trade from Hawai'i, which means we catch the U.S. session in the dark hours of the morning. That's not a hardship story. It's just who we are. Disciplined, early, and honest about how hard this work actually is.
